What happens at the survey

About 45 minutes. We measure the garage, check floor levels and damp, look at how the room connects to the house, and run the three paperwork checks — covenants, planning status, party wall. You get our honest view on the spot, including if we think you shouldn't convert.

Nothing to prepare, but two things speed the quote up if you have them: any deeds or transfer documents from your purchase, and a note of what the room needs to do — office, bedroom, playroom, or a mix. If you don't have either, we work from the title register and a conversation.
